We hope everyone had a great Easter! Our Easter weekend was relaxing, fun, and for one 4yr. old "So AWESOME!"
We began our Easter festivities with the fun tradition of coloring eggs and Max LOVES this tradition! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I so love the age of 4! Everything is so exciting and to see that excitement on his face makes everything worth it! Now back to coloring eggs. This task begins and ends rather quickly due to the lack of patience at the age of 4. We drop an egg in(pray it doesn't crack)take it out and "ta da" we've colored over a dozen eggs in roughly 5 minutes.
Easter morning Max woke up, came into the bathroom where I was getting ready for church, dropped his head and said "the eastew bunny didn't come, there was no basket in my cwoset(closet)." This was so sad. Apparently Max had remembered that last year the bunny hid his basket in his closet, so of course it not being there this Easter morning was completely devastating. I told Max that perhaps the bunny placed it downstairs, to which he quickly recovered, ran downstairs, found his basket and all was good again.
We then made our way to church at 7:45AM(way to early for me on a Sunday). Typically we attend the late service but today was Easter and church caters in an AMAZING Easter brunch for everyone to enjoy at 9AM. So we thought we'd get up early to make the 8AM service and beat the rush. Well apparently everyone else had the same idea because when we arrived at church there were no more seats available, so we took the ushers seats. After the service and our delicious meal we arrived back home to find a backyard full of easter eggs that the bunny hid for Max. He looked over the deck towards his sandbox, noticed a bunch of colorful eggs, yelled "this is so AWESOME" and took off running. After Max had a bucket full of eggs and a stomach full of jelly beans we then decided to bundle up for a walk by the lake.
We completed the day with an AH....MAZING dinner complete with steaks from the grill, oh and Josh would like for me to mention the grill marks on the steaks(sign of a grill master)he's very proud of this. Along with our steaks we had grilled asparagus, oriental salad(not from a bag), deviled eggs, strawberries, and grilled pineapple w/vanilla ice cream for dessert, YUM!
Overall the day was a success and Max told me "the eastew bunny won't come again until next yeaw, but santa comes soon." Well, not as soon as he thinks. (Easter pics coming soon)
