hello 2012.

Yesterday started out with a clean house, a nicely set table, and two kids eager to tear open some more gifts. That's right, it was yet another family Christmas. Grandpa Don, Grandma Jean, Great-Granny, Auntie Jenna, Mike and my cousin Lavania and her boyfriend Josh all joined us for the final Christmas of 2011 or the first of 2012, depending how you look at it.

 Sisters

And in true Mike and Jenna fashion.....

Christmas sweaters. Imagine what their kids will wear someday.

Close up.

Check out that winter wonderland, yikes! By far her worst sweater yet. She informed me that on their 10 year wedding anniversary they're going to have a quilt made of all their ugly Christmas sweaters. That's going to be one heck of a quilt.

Again the kids were generously given way too many gifts from the family members listed above(plus 2 uncles). A pirate ship and an abundance of pirate men and accessories have been played with much of the day by Max while Lila has been enjoying all of her new Olivia the Pig toys(she's a pretty big fan of that pig).

We indulged in a number of appetizers and topped it all off with a ham dinner. The food was all FABULOUS, trust me I know, I just finished my THIRD helping.

When it was all said and done my living room was destroyed(and still is), my kitchen a mess of dirty dishes(still is), and my table is still holding onto a few items of food and empty cups and pop cans but who cares, the day was worth it!

2012 will be one busy year for us. The start of Nursing school, work, hockey, school activities, summer weddings, etc. Hopefully we can catch a break every now and then to enjoy the little things, like a play date with the pig family.....

or the chance to play with a new rifle lighter.....

Josh's favorite gift by far. Clearly my parents spent way too much on his other gifts.

or to just enjoy a good ol cup of coffee, while sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing(in my pj's).

New Christmas jammies. Lila got a big kick out of these. Thanks Granny.

New Caribou mug to add to my collection. Thanks Jenna.

Here's to the simple things in life and new beginnings.
