Summer continues to be stickin around up here and we're continuing to enjoy it. The monsoons have passed, the grass is now green, and the flowers are returning to life. And we too have recovered from one of thee most horrible stomach bugs EVER! It was rough and naturally it hit me the hardest, however on the plus side I did manage to lose 4 lbs. Nothing like a good ole stomach virus to make those jeans go on a tad bit smoother.
This week is a busy one but hey if it wasn't I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Max is especially excited because school is coming to and end. So long kindergarten hello first grade! He's so pumped. And this first year of school was AWESOME! He LOVED it and never once complained of having to go. He enjoyed it all, from the friends, to the school lunch(ugh), to the bus ride home it was all one big adventure. He missed very few days and in his sweet nature was nothing but concerned on those days he did miss. As much as he enjoyed it all he's looking forward to his break. Between swimming, soccer, and camping trips he's pretty much planned out his next 3 months. He's even swapped phone numbers with friends so they can play, (sigh) I just love him.
Miss Lila has kept busy too. She loves to be outside as much as possible and whether she's coloring with chalk,
or chasing butterflies,
she's enjoying every minute of the crisp fresh air and the sunshine that comes along with it.
We made the most of our gorgeous weekend by throwing a baby shower for Nora. Baby M. is due in the next few weeks and of course he needs to be showered with a few new gifts.
Ashley, Lauren, and I put our party plannin skills to work and hosted one heck of baby shower. And since Miss Nora has been teaching kids well, forever, we thought a chalkboard theme was most appropriate.
Invites.
Baby gift courtesy of Sproutlings(local business), door prizes courtesy of Saffron & Grey(another local business), mason jar favors, chalkboard cookies courtesy of the Red Mug(Superior), and deliciousness, strawberry apple sangria, and fresh brewed iced tea with mint.
I know a tad on the dirty side but hey, that's are group.
Fun with puff paint. Baby M will be stylin.
Friends.
Baby M. was showered with love and received many wonderful things. We can't wait to meet him.
Josh and Max arrived home just as the shower was ending. They had spent the afternoon doing manly things, like fishing. Max ran up to the door very excited stating "mom come see my one fish I caught."
Turns out he caught a few more. No need to think of something for dinner, fish and hush puppies it was. Thanks Max!
This week we travel to the cities to congratulate Josh's cousin Sam on his high school graduation and to wish Paul and Christa many happy years ahead as we attend their wedding. It's a week of celebrations!
